Being a fan of Peretti and Dekker for years now, I am always on the lookout for Faith-based fiction that pushes beyond traditional genres into the realm of mystery, suspense and the supernatural. From the first page of Crossing into the Mystic I felt myself drawn into Grace McKenna’s sometimes dark world of “Subtle vision” and I was hooked! The first book left me fretting over the plight of our heroine so when the opportunity arose; I practically jumped at the chance to be one of the first to read Edging into the Underground. Having waited almost a year for the next book in the series, I am pleased to say that D.L. Koontz does not disappoint with the sequel! I found Edging Through the Underground as much of an absorbing and fast paced read as its predecessor. I was pulled even deeper into Grace’s world of ghosts, angels and demons. Some of my questions were answered, a few more presented themselves along the way and I find myself salivating for the next in the series! Great Job D.L Koontz! Edging Through the Underground is everything you want in a good book: page turning suspense, a brave and stubborn heroine and a plot line that leaves you guessing until the end then wanting more! Ms. Koontz will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. I will ponder on what Grace is doing now and what will she find and who will be the evil one until the final book of the trilogy comes out.
I love this series. Edging Through The Darkess had me on the edge of my seat. I was riveted and finished in a day. At times I had to stop and reread a passage for its brilliance. I want to read the next book now and not have to wait.
This series is one of the best I've read. I have to put D. L. Koontz up there with James Patterson and Nora Roberts. I can't wait to read the third of this trilogy!
Loved this! I am fan of history and I don't know if the events described here actually happened, but a nice twist.
This is a great series of books! I highly recommend! Read on a weekend or you'll get not sleep since you won't be able to put it down! Sad when I finished because the series apparently ended! Boo! Hoo! for me.
Okay, just wow! Grace, now 17 years old, remains at the pre-Civil War home, Crossings, with her cousin Michael (now her guardian). With maturity beyond her years (and yet with enough teenage naïveté to doubt and wonder about what is happening to her), Grace moves forward with helping ghosts/souls move on. Meanwhile, she becomes convinced her cousin is being possessed by an evil ghost/soul and has no idea what to do about it. Plots and subplots abound -- no spoilers here -- and I was dizzy (in a good way) attempting to puzzle it all out. Excellent writing, setting descriptors superb, and characters to care about all made this an entertaining and suspenseful read. On the the third book right now!
*spoiler alert* D. L. Koontz did an amazing job! I was so riveted that I bought this book immediately after reading the first one. I couldn't wait for the this one to arrive so I downloaded the digital version and had it read before the book even arrived! I love Grace's adventure and courage to help solve the murder. I was even a little scared when she went into the dark tunnels wondering what would happen. I love all the characters and am especially excited to learn of Clay's father and how she's going to reveal all this info to Cassie and the kids. I kind of fell in love with Will too through all of this. I loved his looking out for Grace and helping her. D. L. Koontz writes in such a way I felt like I was with Grace at Gettysburg watching one of the murders take place! This book and it's details remain with me so that I won't need to reread it before reading the third! Can't wait!!
